A major vehicle repair rarely arrives at a convenient time. For many people, a working car is essential to earning a living, caring for family and managing everyday life.

One DigniFi customer experienced that pressure on Christmas Eve:

“My truck was in the shop last year, and this is the only way I could pay to get my truck on Christmas Eve—or I would not have been able to go spend time with my family. So, I am very thankful to DigniFi for approving me as quickly as they did.”

That is the kind of moment DigniFi was built to support.

DigniFi provides inclusive financing solutions for automotive, powersports and recreational vehicle dealerships and their customers. Its goal is not simply to fund an individual transaction. It is to build long-term relationships by offering financing when and where customers need it.

“We’re here to build relationships, not to be transactional,” said Neeraj Mehta, CEO of DigniFi. “This isn’t about one transaction. This is about a long-term relationship and enabling people to meet their needs and aspirations in automotive, powersports and recreational vehicles.”

The Challenge: Taking Control of the Customer Experience

As DigniFi prepared for its next stage of growth, the company reevaluated its operating model, technology infrastructure and go-to-market strategy.

Historically, DigniFi outsourced important functions, including loan servicing. Relying on external systems and service-level agreements made it difficult to respond quickly, modify workflows and control the complete dealer and consumer experience.

“I experienced it firsthand,” said Freddie Garcia, COO of DigniFi. “It was very slow reaction times from our vendor, which led to us diving in deeper into how we could look at speeding things up.”

For DigniFi, bringing these capabilities in-house was about more than improving operational efficiency. Both the dealer and the borrower are DigniFi customers, and every interaction—from acquisition and underwriting through servicing and the end of the loan—can influence that relationship.

“To be able to control the consumer and merchant experience from acquisition all the way through end of life of the loan is a really important thing,” Mehta said. “Every one of those journeys has many moments that matter.”

The Solution: An API-Driven Lending Platform

DigniFi selected Peach (Now SoFi Tech Credit), now part of SoFi Tech Solutions, to help bring loan servicing in-house and create a more connected technology environment.

Unlike the closed systems DigniFi had previously encountered, the platform’s API-driven architecture allowed DigniFi’s technology to communicate directly with the loan management system.

“One of the greatest features about Peach (Now SoFi Tech Credit) is that it is an API-driven LMS,” Garcia said. “With the API integrations, you’re having tech-to-tech conversations, and you’re having your information going directly from one source to the other.”

That connectivity helped DigniFi streamline internal processes and gave its engineering team more flexibility to make changes, modify customer flows and support new products.

“Our engineers have zero complaints about the API conversations,” Garcia added. “It makes our internal lives easier when it comes to making changes, offering a new product or modifying our flows. It’s just an easier way to work.”

Most importantly, bringing servicing in-house gave DigniFi greater control over how quickly it could respond when dealers or consumers needed assistance.

“Instead of having to rely on others to meet their SLAs to answer a question or solve a problem, now that we have control of it, we can solve these problems ourselves,” Garcia said. “It’s definitely accelerated our timelines, specifically for the consumers that we have on that platform.”

Expanding Through Embedded Finance

DigniFi’s transformation also supported a broader shift in its growth strategy.

The company originally grew by signing dealerships and service centers individually. It has since expanded its embedded finance approach through channel partnerships that include dealer management systems and automotive manufacturers.

By embedding financing into existing dealership and OEM workflows, DigniFi can make financing available throughout more of the customer journey—from purchasing a vehicle to paying for repairs, accessories and service plans.

“Embedded finance, at the end of the day, is a finance product offered at the moments that matter throughout the journey,” Mehta said.

This approach also gives dealerships another way to retain customers. A customer who can finance a necessary repair is more likely to complete the work instead of postponing it or leaving the dealership without service.

Helping Dealers Say Yes to More Customers

At Central Houston Nissan, DigniFi is offered alongside another financing provider because one solution does not fit every customer.

DigniFi has been particularly valuable for customers who need larger approval amounts, longer repayment terms or the ability to finance repairs with no money down.

“These differences have helped our team complete repairs that might otherwise have been postponed or lost,” said Tim Nguyen, Service Director at Central Houston Nissan. “We’ve experienced firsthand how having a second financing provider can make the difference between a completed repair and a lost opportunity.”

For the dealership, offering another financing option is about more than completing an individual repair order. It helps service advisors retain customers, capture revenue and provide an answer when a customer may otherwise have to walk away.

“It’s not about choosing one provider over the other,” Nguyen said. “It’s about having both available to help more customers say yes to the repairs they need.”

Other dealership teams describe a similarly uncomplicated experience.

“DigniFi is super easy to use, customers love it, it doesn’t take any extra time out of my busy day,” said Anthony P., Service Advisor at Bob Moore Mazda.

The ability to offer meaningful options can also strengthen customer loyalty.

“We do get a lot of customers that come back because they see that we work hard for them and give them options,” said Ruben, a dealership professional in Oklahoma City.

Providing Relief When an Expense Cannot Wait

Behind every completed repair is a customer trying to keep life moving.

One customer described facing a repair after their savings had already been depleted:

“My car broke down at probably the worst time possible. Savings were depleted and I couldn’t afford a hit like this. Honestly, it would have knocked me back down the ladder I worked so hard to climb.”

The customer applied online and said they received an approval within 15 minutes.

“Now I didn’t have to worry about paying for my auto repairs out of pocket. I was given time to save, and I don’t have to pay it all at once either. I can do it in monthly installments now. It’s a huge relief.”

Another customer explained the impact more simply:

“You were there when I needed help. I didn’t have all the money to keep my car running. Thank you for taking a chance on me. My car is still running.”

These experiences reflect DigniFi’s approach to inclusive finance: use data, technology and industry expertise to match customers with appropriate financing while managing risk responsibly.

DigniFi has invested in its underwriting capabilities, including a new underwriting engine developed with Equifax. The goal is to improve how the company matches the right customer with the right product and price.

“That’s how you continue to get better at inclusive finance,” Mehta said. “It is making sure you’re pricing the risk for the return, but also being empathetic in what that consumer needs—to get their car back on the road, to go back to school or go back to work.”

A Partnership Built for the Next Stage of Growth

DigniFi initially valued Peach (Now SoFi Tech Credit) for its technology, flexibility and personal support. As part of SoFi Tech Solutions, the platform now offers DigniFi access to a broader range of products and capabilities.

“We selected Peach (Now SoFi Tech Credit) because a lot of smaller businesses like ours partner with other small businesses,” Mehta said. “Peach (Now SoFi Tech Credit) treated us like a big fish in a small pond. That was really important.”

The combination of personal support and expanded capabilities creates a foundation for DigniFi’s next phase: growing its embedded finance partnerships, improving dealer and customer experiences, and providing financing at more of the moments that matter.

For the people relying on those dealerships, the outcome is tangible: necessary repairs get completed, vehicles get back on the road and life keeps moving.
